Our Staff

Sole Pastor: Rev. Kevin Koester

Pastor Kevin Koester (Kess-tur), grew up in Golden Valley, Minnesota. He has a wonderful sister and brother-in-law (Kaitlin and Aaron), as well as two great parents (Wayne and Jean).

After graduating from West Lutheran High School in Plymouth, he attended Concordia University in St. Paul. While at CSP, he majored in theology and minored in history, while being a part of the pre-seminary program.

After receiving his undergraduate degree, he attended Concordia Seminary St. Louis in the fall of 2015. After two years of studies in Missouri, he served his vicarage at Trinity Lutheran Church in Howards Grove, Wisconsin under Pastor Darrel Bergelin. On May 1st, 2019, he was called to serve as Associate Pastor of Mt Calvary and on January 30th, 2024, he was called to serve as Sole Pastor of Mt. Calvary. 

Pastor Kevin enjoys rooting for the Vikings, Twins, Timberwolves, and Minnesota Golden Gophers. He is always willing to talk history or play a game of trivia. Being born and raised in Minnesota, he enjoys being on or near the water whenever he can.

As of his installation in March 2024, Kevin is serving as Sole Pastor at Mt. Calvary.

Part-time Pastor: Rev. Dr. Dale Sattgast

Rev. Dr. Dale Sattgast served as Mt. Calvary's Senior Pastor from 1987 until 2006. After many years of faithful service, he received the call to serve as President of the South Dakota District (LCMS).

As of June 2023, Pastor Sattgast will be serving on a part-time basis at Mt. Calvary.
